Ed Jordan was hired as the transportation director in June 2023.

He said he applied because he saw a need and wanted help out.

When asked what he is looking forward to in his new role, he said, "To be able to play a small part in making things better for the kids here in Salem as far transportation is concerned."

He said he wants the community to know that the transportation department wants to be committed to helping out in the best ways they can.

"There is nothing like knowing you are the first person in the morning to see the kids and give them a great big hello and be the last one in the evening to see them from school and say have a great night see you tomorrow," he said.
